Neal W. Duiker joined Whitaker & Shade, LLC in October 2009 working as a part time contract attorney until February 2010. Mr. Duiker graduated from the University of Toledo School of Law in December 2008. He is licensed to practice law in Ohio and in the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
While in law school, Mr. Duiker worked for Lucas County Children’s Services working on child dependency, neglect and abuse cases. He also worked at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation’s General Counsel Office, the City of Toledo’s Law Department and clerked at the Toledo Municipal Court. Mr. Duiker served in the Ohio Army National Guard and fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom III.
Mr. Duiker primarily works in the areas of civil and juvenile law, including child custody, juvenile delinquency, employment, consumer protection issues, civil rights litigation, real estate litigation and school law. Mr. Duiker regularly consults with clients about basic estate planning work, guardianships and rights for the mentally ill.
Mr. Duiker is a member of the Ohio Bar Association, Warren County Bar Association and Butler County Bar Association. He is active with Heritage Presbyterian Church in Mason, Ohio where he is the associate pastor’s spouse.
